I'm needing some encouragement to press on to know Him more deeply, so my verse for the next two weeks reflects my desire.
Hosea 6:3
Let us know; Let us press on to know the Lord;
His going out is as sure at the dawn;
He will come to us as the showers,
as the spring rains that water the earth.
Reading everyones verses inspires me. Thank you for continually posting. If you need a reminder that we are a very small part of the awesome body of Christ and that many women around the world are memorizing two verses a month, click over to the Living Proof blog and read Beth Moore's post and see the hundreds of comments of women's verses poor in. I don't know about you, but remembering that we are part of a huge body bolsters my desire to be disciplined and not miss out on the blessing of saturating my heart and mind with scripture. Thanks for joining me in this life-changing group we call Moxie Memorizers. We are two weeks away from being half-way through our first year together!
It's time to post up! Just in case you forgot, I'm so so proud of you all!

Hey ladies, I have been one of the people that has been struggling. I Just wanted to encourage you that this time I have made a point to memorize while I am driving. Instead of listening to music I have been memorizing verses and it is really helping. So if you need to change it up you could try that it has been great for me. And I find it hard to yell at other drivers when I am memorizing verses too :)
Psalm 62:8 ESV
Trust in him at all times, O People; pour out your heart before him;God is a refuge for us.
~Nicky
Hey ladies, I am also in the same boat as Nicky on this one. I have been struggling lately, and just haven't been putting the effort in that I should have. I am praying that the Holy Spirit would saturate my heart with passionate desire to know God's word and know His heart for me through this:
John 15: 9-11 ~
"Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full."

I go through phases of taking scripture to heart and keeping it there. I love when I hit the phase of appreciating the precious words that are there to comfort and strengthen me, pulling me closer to God. This is a verse from the David study that has resonated with me.
Psalm 71:5
For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth
My faith was so real when I was young, and God is just as much here for me now as I get older. May He be our hope and confidence!!

I'm having a physically challenging week and have been looking at verses that talk about healing (besides James). After being prayed for in group last night (thanks, Jonathan), I slept great for a change and feel a bit better today.
Job 4:3-4 ESV
Behold, you have instructed many,
and you have strengthened the weak hands.
Your words have upheld him who was stumbling, and you have made firm the feeble knees.
Carol
"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
Colossians 3:2

I was doing so well at memorizing until mid-April. With our multiple trips to Kansas and all that was involved with it, I got off track and haven't gotten back on. I had already decided that I was going to suck it up and start again when I read this post and all your comments. I'm so glad I'm not alone!
Since I never memorized the last 2 verses I posted in April, I will do those this month and work on reviewing. I love this community!
1 Peter 3:3-4
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

In the David study, several people brought up this idea of Jealousy. I think as women, we just naturally compare ourselves to others. One verse that I have always found helpful in those small moments, and that I have forgotten that I had memorized, is:
Galatians 6:4 (NIV)
Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else.
I hope this helps encourage this week!
The Hosea verse in this blog is one that really encouraged me last summer in EA (fun fact!
The verse I will be memorizing this month spoke to me in one of your blog posts so I want to memorize and continue to let the Spirit of God move my posture into being a servant for our mighty King.
Mark 10:45 says, "Even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many."
The last couple check-ins here I was posting from a passage in 2 Cor because I wanted to memorize a passage instead of just one verse at a time from different books. I liked that so much that I'm going to do that again. I will begin in Phil 2 and work on verses 1 and 2 first, and from there memorize as much of that chapter as I can or feel led to. So, here are those first two:
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.
*I'm REALLY enjoying being a part of this accountability group. Even when I had my moments of falling behind I always felt like I could come back to you ladies and know that you were right there with me. Thank you!!
Deuteronomy 4:9
Only be careful and watch yourselves so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live.
This year has been a story book journey for me, as I go back to visit the places that once had me in bondage. Next week I go back to Yosemite. I'm going back to know the setting and the people and the place in a new way. I'm going back to know the rest of the story; the light behind the darkness; the "once was" in the "is now". Because I am no longer that same girl who once lived there. I have been radically set free from the bondage I once lived there. Jesus has overcome that darkness and has overcome Satan. Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.
It is written: I overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of my testimony. God has done great things
In my life and I will not forget or let them slip from my heart. And as Paul Harvey once put it......."here's to the rest of the story."
I too have enjoyed being apart of this scripture group.

Wow, friends!! These posts are so encouraging! I'm so happy to be part of this journey with all of you. I love how you are letting Him transform you through His living and active Word! Love you all so much!
One of the many powerful verses from James :)
"But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere." -James 3:17
I've been working on this one for some time now but these next two weeks I WILL finish it!
"If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. but love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful." Luke 6:32-36
I also want to work on this verse:
"Even when you are old, I will be the same. Even when your hair has turned gray, I will take care of you. I made you and will take care of you. I will carry you and save you." Isaiah 46:4
The last two verses in the Colossians 3 chunk I have been working on:
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Seems timely as I'm needing some motivation to keep up with reviewing/memorizing. Praying that the word really will dwell richly in my life.
For this half of the month it's been more of a struggle to find God leading me in WHAT to memorize rather than TO memorize. I'm still not really sure what verses he's speaking to me from. This one is a reviewing verse:
Proverbs 3:3-4 (ESV)
"Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man."
I could use some help finding a verse that speaks truth about God's silences. I feel like there are a lot of things He's trying to tell me and teach me but I can't sort out what they are exactly. I need some encouragement in waiting for His answers but I don't even know where to look for that. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know (text me). Love you all.
