Happy December! Can you believe this is our next to last post for our first year of Moxie Memorizers? I can't express to you how full my heart it over those of you that have stuck it out with us throughout the year, as well as those of you who have recently joined us. All of these women taking in the word of God fills me up for sure! Thank you for your faithfulness. I know He is transforming our lives through His word.
I will be finishing up Romans 12 this month. Verse 20 is my focus for the next two weeks.
Romans 12:20
On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
When I was a kid I always thought this was a funny verse. I'm pretty sure I didn't understand the intent because in my heart for revenge towards those who hurt me, I would actually picture red hot coals on their heads. My motives were for pain and not restoration from Jesus...so glad he didn't light anyone's head on fire on my behalf!
Just to let all of you know, I've had to change the way comments appear because of the apparent button I pushed with the I'm Pretty Sure She Didn't Say That post. Man, that really got under some people's skin! I got the f-bomp dropped on the comments a couple of times yesterday. Pretty funny if you ask me! So for now, comments will be posted "after blog owner approval." That's me. So I'll post your awesome verses as they come through. But, keep it clean, people.

I was a slacker since the last post and will be repeating my verse from Nov 15th. I will tack on the next one too to give myself a challenge.
Isaiah 40:22,23
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
(NEW ONE) He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.
Continuing on in Philippians:
1:15-18
"It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so in love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,"
I realized that the reason I have been dragging my feet through memorizing this next part of Philippians is because I honestly don't like these verses. These ones, right here. I struggle with them, and I wonder if Paul saw the years and decades and centuries of harm done by "preaching Christ in false motives"...so I DO care, and to me, it DOES matter where somebody's heart is when they are sharing the gospel, because it will affect every part of the way they share, and the life they lead...so Paul and I have some disagreements to work out. That said, though, we are all sinners, in need of grace. No one who shares the gospel is perfect. But then I just start to wonder what God is doing giving his message to humans. Oh sigh.
i think it's pretty funny too! the truth hurts, i guess :)
i finally memorized this, which the Lord gave to me a couple years ago as a promise over a trial I was going through. it's really brought to mind His faithfulness and goodness now that i can recall it word for word:
Isaiah 42:16
"And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know; in paths that they have not known, i will guide them. I will turn darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. This is what I do, and I do not forsake them."
Still working on Isaiah 55, almost there! My goal is to finish by end of year!
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

It has been a really rough past few weeks. I have been deeply reminded of when I originally met Jesus, and words of healing that He spoke then and continues to speak. This is a reminder of how far He has gone to have and heal me, and how far He will go to reach our friends in the clubs. It is so encouraging that He stops at nothing.
(I am feeling more and more challenged to take on a chunk of scripture instead of unconnected verses, so I am tacking on three more verses to a small chunk I have already memorized.)
"Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you. I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."
Isaiah 43:5-7
Still solidifying my last verses, but going to work on Philippians 4:8 in a few days.
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
Ok first let me say although I haven't posted the last 2 times I'm still working on memorizing, just didn't get to taking the time to post..not cool!!
But I'm here and I have a couple of longer verses but holding onto them for the new year. This one is perfect for where I am in this season and just a great reminder for me.

I was having a hard time finding a verse to memorize for the beginning of this month. In preparation for Cord of Hope yesterday, I was reading through some different passages talking about God's redemption and came across Psalm 130. So, for this month, I am going to focus on that chapter of scripture to memorize.
