That's correct. People call me Angel, but my given name is Angela. The story goes something like, my parents were driving home from the hospital and my mom decided to call me Angel. I honestly don't know if that's true, but whatever. When I was in second grade I was tired of being called 'devil' (oh kids) so I decided to try to go by Angela. The meanest second grade teacher in Texas presided over me and I didn't answer to Angela very well, so I quickly went back to Angel, and here we are today. Do you know there are about eleventy-million songs with the word 'angel' in them? I've been sung them all.
My quirkiness includes, but is not limited to locking the door of public bathrooms half a dozen tries before I do business, and still worrying that I didn't properly secure the premises. I believe many fictional characters are real and my friends. (Hello, Braverman family and Hermione, Ron, and Harry!) Math sucks, and words are our friends. One time I ate a scorpion. I keep dozens of tabs open on my computer, and I rarely remember to shut it down for a rest.
I love to cook and bake delicious treats with Chad. We actually try all those Pinteresting recipes I've been collecting for years. Exercise helps me take care of my body because I like to eat the treats. Movies that don't require too much emotional energy and simply entertain are my favorite.
In real life, I'm Chad's wife, and Esther, Kyle, Morgan, and Carah's mom, and a friend to just about anyone I meet. Investing in and mentoring women is my passion. Now that I'm in my 40s, a greater desire to teach people to invest in others continually grows in my heart. I love the local church so much, like really, SO much. Helping people truly learn to love and serve Jesus and others through the church has actually taught me to really love and serve Jesus and people through the local church. Nothing beats seeing someone come alive as they decide to follow Jesus, and then jump fully into a community of faith.
I don't usually mince words, but oddly enough I'm a people pleaser. You can get to know my heart on many issues if you stick around this blog. My favorite is when these posts become conversations, so please jump in and add your two cents. We may not agree on everything, but we all grow through good, solid conversation.
Do you have any questions for me? Feel free to ask and I'll feel free to respond or not.
